"Unrequited love is most frustrating."

“My tears have fallen to the earth. I reap flowers in return.”

Jules and I saw Madama Butterfly the other night.

I heart Puccini.

The opera was quite depressing, but simply amazing. However, La Boheme is still my favorite. I suppose I should check out Carmen before deciding for sure. It just blows me away how the singers don't use mics and their voices fill the theatre.

Brilliant music and lyrics.

"I live in hope."

I heart Nancy and Ming

Nancy at 7:30am - Why is it so f!#%ing bright???
Ming: It's called the sun
Nancy: What the hell is it doing in London?!

Ming calls me Gracetopher (I don't know why - she's a peculiar one). We realized that if we switch it up, it becomes Topher Grace. Therefore, we've concluded that it's meant to be that I marry Topher Grace. Then, we could be MingMing (Ming's full name) and Grace Grace.

"So... you all stoned enough?"

We went to Bath/Stonehenge yesterday. We woke up early and barely made it to our 6 a.m. bus. Ming had to run ahead of us and make sure the bus didn't leave Nancy, Julie and me. That little girl can run. So Ming and Nancy decided to stay up the night before; therefore, this led to interesting conversations, thoughts, actions. (For example, the brilliant thoughts of MingMing Chu at 5:40 in the morning after a night of no sleep:

MingMing: You know what? They (the Brits) should have a rap artist called 50p (50 pence) and he could be 50 Cent's rival. He could say, 'You know my fifty pence is one dollar. That totally beats your fifty cents.')

Once we made our way over to Bath, we first went to the Roman baths. It was neat to see something so old and well preserved. I think my favorite part of the day though was the drive to and from Bath and Stonehenge. I really enjoy looking at trees, especially the naked ones without any leaves. Their seemingly pencil-thin branches make them look so fragile, yet deep down, they're firmly rooted in the ground. I just stared at the silhouettes of these thin trees and enjoyed the greenery. It was a nice break from the city-ness of London.

Stonehenge. Well, basically... a bunch of rocks. But, it was still impressive to me. I was more dazzled by the sheep on the other side of the road. I wanted to be their friend. They seem so nice.

Return of Grays

Hello all... sorry about the long delay in posts, but we were having some router (pronouned rooter here) problems.

Hmmm... where to even begin... Well, first of all, Julie is here!!! It's been absolutely fantastic with her here; it just feels so comfortable and nice. This past week has been a delight with pleasant surprises everyday. I do indeed feel and realize that I am loved. Thank you to all who help me experience God's love through them. As I sit here and look at the flowers that Ming got me from the cutest flower shop, I smile. Everywhere I look, there are little reminders of the people I love so. I am thankful and thankful.

So updates:
1. I finished Virginia Woolf's The Waves. 'Twas quite depressing, put me in a funk for a couple of days. The fact that I was thinking about death all the time didn't help.
2. Sleeping is great minus waking up at least twice during the night. But hey, at least I'm sleeping before the sun comes out.
3. The Barber of Seville, the opera and the Bugs Bunny cartoon - not very different. Bugs Bunny is funnier. Oh yeah speaking of classical music, Dan - Chopin's preludes are pretty neat too - Preludes Op. 28: quite intense, I think (but the Nocturne is my favorite).
4. I like ballet. Watching, that is. It's so pretty.
5. Les Miserables was AMAZING. Favorite quote: "To love is to see the face of God." Oh, and to see "On my own" performed live... goosebumps. I loved that song since I was in junior high when my mom made me watch Les Miserables on PBS. I know, I know.. it's been the theme song for every girl one point in her life; even so, it still feels like 'my song'.
6. Galatians and Ephesians rocked my world. I highly suggest it as a good read for anyone who is looking for something to read. I forgot to tell you about that Paul - check out Ephesians. I thought it was really neat and encouraging. By the way Mon, I totally thought of you when I read 1 Corinthians 'cause I wrote "Mon's encouraging verse" by 'your verse' in the margins. :)
7. Saw a fringe play called Lorilei about a woman who tells the story of her son's death and her journey through grief. She eventually tries to save her son's murderer from the death sentence. It was a beautiful story of mercy and redemption. I had to call beforehand and reserve tickets. When I went to pick up my tickets, I looked at the list and found "Grays Liu". It was the first time ever that my first name was misspelled, not my last name. Those Brits, they're really committed to that 'say-it-like-it's-spelled; spell-it-like-it's-said' thing.
